Get Ahead Aimhigher Year 8 Roadshow Programme:

The following is the programme for the standard Get Ahead Aimhigher Year 8 Roadshow session. The standard Roadshow session is designed to last 50 minutes, but it can be altered to fit your requirements. Each session can be delivered to a maximum of 60 pupils, and a maximum of 5 sessions can be carried out in a day.

 

Roadshow Programme

Time	Activity	Description
5 Mins	Welcome / context presentation	An introduction to the session and the student ambassadors who are working on the event.
5 Mins	4 Corners and One Sentence Evaluation	This is an evaluation game to gauge how your students feel about university before the session has started.
10 Mins	Aimhigher Film	2 Films. The first one shows three university students discussing what they did before they came to university and their experiences of being at university. The second film is about a girl called Jackie who is deciding what to do when she leaves school. In then fast forward five years to see how each choice she could of made is affecting her life.
15 Mins	If I Can, You Can (student life talk)	This is where your students get to ask our student ambassadors questions about their experiences at university.
10 Mins	Graduation Project (poster)	This exercise encourages your students to think about their futures and how they are going to acheive their goals.
5 Mins	4 Corners and One Sentence Evaluation	This is the same evealuation exercise as before and it should gauge how the session has affected your students opinions of university and higher education.
